| Cassidy Leonardis “I believe I qualify to be the 'Future Teacher of the Month' because I have always been extremely passionate about teaching. Since I was in 2nd grade, I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I love kids and I want to help all students reach their full potential with their education. Throughout my life, I helped my autistic brother with his schoolwork and volunteered for his Special Olympics team. He was my number one inspiration for going into the education field. This summer, I worked at a daycare as an assistant teacher. I helped the teachers in their classrooms and worked with young children (infants-PreK). Additionally, I tutored students from the elementary through the high school level in most of the core subjects. Since I cannot work at my on-campus job this semester, I plan to continue tutoring. During my senior year of high school, I took a course called 'Tomorrow's Teachers', where I was able to student teach and observe classes in my hometown district. It was an amazing experience because I grew a strong bond with the students and I was so happy that I was able to help so much. Overall, I am a very involved student and I always like to learn new things. I am looking forward to my future years at TCNJ and seeing what the future holds!” |
