September 14, 2020 - Virtual Student Teaching
Be patient, be flexible, be positive, be creative. Your co-ops this semester are grateful that you are there, so help them as much as you can. This semester is different, but let's embrace the difference and have fun! The students are happy that they get to see your face each time you are on the screen. Best of luck in practicums this semester and your own virtual classes! - Ellie

September 28, 2020 - Build Good Relationships with Students & Parents
Develop good relationships with your students and their parents as it is an easy way to get to know your students more! It helps build trust and relieve any anxieties built in the classroom. This also allows you to get a better idea on how to tend the student’s needs in their academics. It is hard to teach a student if you know very little about them, so getting to know your students and building a good relationship with them and their parents will not only make teaching easier for you, but also be beneficial for the student. - Vivian

November 9, 2020 - Reteaching
Reteach, reteach, reteach!! This applies to both your students and yourself.
Young students really benefit from review and repetition when learning letters and math facts. Keep in mind this doesn’t mean to do the same thing over and over, because you need to keep your students interested! Try to make different lessons and games where the kids can work on memorizing important skills, and make sure you review the necessary skills before you teach something new!
When it comes to reteaching yourself, make sure you teach in the way kids need to learn instead of teaching in the way you understand. It’s important to remember that the way you understand something in the context of everything you know is very different from the way kids will know it after learning it for the first time! - Mary
