The Teachers of Young Children Association is a college sponsored organization that works to provide meaningful involvement and valuable professional opportunities for all students at The College of New Jersey interested in working with children. TYC does not require members to be studying in the field of education. Rather we encourage anyone who would like an opportunity to teach children through being a role model to join!
Our Mission
- To provide students at TCNJ with the opportunities to participate in community service to benefit children both on campus and in the surrounding area.
-To prepare pre-service teachers at TCNJ for their future careers through professional development, such as presentations from members in the field.
Membership
- To be considered an active member of TYC, you must participate enough to earn 20 points for the whole year (you need 10 per semester). If you do so, you will be provided with a certificate and letter that recognizes your contribution to the club.
- However, active membership is not a requirement. You can be as involved in TYC as you choose.
